I received a Brownie camera for my birthday when I was ten, and I was immediately bitten by the photography bug. I have been interested in photography ever since. For quite a few years I took pictures only for my own enjoyment until friends started telling me I should “do something with these pictures.” Since then, I have combined my love of photography with my love of travel, using those opportunities to share my view of the world through pictures. In addition to fine art pieces, I enjoy creating photo greetings cards, which are a very popular sideline to my fine art sales. I also enjoy taking environmental family portraits and senior yearbook pictures. My photography covers a WIDE range of subjects, from people to places and everything in between. I have had a number of solo exhibits and have participated in various combined exhibits with the Clintonville Arts Guild, the Worthington Area Art League, and other individual artists. A self-taught photographer, I rely on my eye and my instincts to capture the images I like. I hope others like them too. My Awards and Exhibits include: February 1984 Magazine Cover, Ohio Academy of Medicine Bulletin; July 2003 Exhibit, Mayor’s Office, Columbus City Hall; December 2004 First Prize, Greenlawn Cemetery Photo Contest; April 2006 First Prize, Columbus Parks and Recreation Creative Arts Event; May 2006 1st Prize, Sunbury (OH) Art Fair; January 2007 Red Tie Gala, Worthington Arts Council; April 2007 Grand Prize, Columbus Parks and Recreation Creative Arts Event; July 2007 Solo Exhibit, Groveport Town Hall Art Gallery; July 2008 2nd prize in the AAA “Home and Away” Magazine National Photo Contest. I have sold to clients in: Spain, Wisconsin, Ohio, New Mexico, Russia, The Azore Islands, Florida, Texas, Nevada, California, Missouri, Hawaii, and Ireland. My work has also been published in a Harcourt Publishing Company elementary school science book for Ohio. My cards and prints are available at a number of retail outlets in Central Ohio. I am a member of the Clintonville Arts Guild. Please visit the Inga Smith page at the Clintonville Arts Guild. Share this on Facebook |
